Looks like I will be adding a few items to my list this year, but not a T3 as mentioned in some of the rumors. 26535, 26537, 36871, 37031, 37196, and 46090 are now on my list. My wife's list will grow by 2 items, the KPEV G12 loco and freight cars. It does appear they have made a little bit of something for everybody. Ira |

well, the mfx decoders with sound powered by the central station begin to live their own lives : see the 'official' news from Märklin, seen on the Lokshop.de site, item 37803, class 10 002 , the last two items on the table which tell you the (sound) functions..... This one is an oil-powered steam engine, so who shovels coal or empties the grate.... So i can operate this one on my 6021 without losing much....and have to buy no CS. But, collectors be aware : if this will be corrected by Märklin, we will have a new rare item..... Best wishes to you all around the world Alfred |

I think he is saying collectors will pay more for the model with incorrect sounds. Like the stamp with the airplane upside down. |

But it is very easy to change the sounds, one could put sounds from any lok to any lok or just make up your own. I don't know about rare, but I have a number of loks that have sounds that no one else has... If interested I may be willing to part for one of these rare (only one in existence) loks for the right price[}:)][}:)][^][^]. |

hello all, i just thought that this behaviour is a little bit funny and... as someone may have noticed, the 'collectors' are not my best friends because they have spoiled the prices on the second hand market from a buyers point of view. As i began to play with model RR and Märklin in the 60's you could buy old material (especially freight waggons) at a very low price and then weathering them and so on, and if it was not a success you didn't lost much money. But nowadays everyone thinks of old material as the 'blue mauritius'.... But , back to the class 10, these small things show how a manufacturer takes care of his product (or not !!). I have another 'new' item from Märklin, the 37650 (V60,MHI,ep.3). This one has the antenna for wireless communication on the front, i am not really sure if this is the right outfit for a loco of the 60's. But of course the 'normal' V60 has it, but this is an ep.4 or ep.5 loco where this antenna is o.K. So they just took the body and applied a new (old) painting to it and sold it at a higher price (MHI). But i don't want to complain generally about our hobby or Märklin, i still love model RR..... Just call it "an error" or " a mistake"... All industrial MRR manufacturers are making such small mistakes...also Roco ( inversed engraving of doors, wrong pantograph embasis etc...etc...) Sometimes it's also some typo or some photomontages on catalogues.....( I don't believe they really add a coal sound on it , it is so easy to erase it ) In case of doubt while reading catalogues ,I think we , customers , should warn them about such mistakes ...Today it is so easy....

well, the new French 6 axles SNCF 40100 will be confirmed at Nuremberg toy fair.
Marklin will edit a special leaflet for this model . This big electric CC will be proposed under two references : One SNCF with SNCF livery - Other one under Belgian SNCB livery is called " série 18 " . Both are famous . Both were working on the same famous international Line Paris-Bruxelles-Koln, pulling great trains . later also from ostend( or Anvers...don't remember)to Koln , via Brussels...
Seems they have choose to decline this model with surprising good features....
wait & see
The 2006 Marklin programm looks great....( new BR 01 , new shienenbus, new RE 4/4 I , SNCF 40100, new coaches from DB & CFF...) At least 7 new molds...The best programm I have seen since the "year of the big boy" & the one with the VT 11.5....

Hello, in the last years M regularly published another news brochure, called "export programm" (anyhow it was called that way in Germany). But I remember at least one year when the export articles have been included in the normal news items. There are some foreign models in the 2006 list published so far, e.g. Netherlands, Switzerland, France. Does anyone have an idea wether we can expect a separate "export news" list 2006 and if so, when can we expect it ? Juergen

Hi Jürgen,
First, welcome! As you've already mentioned, the export items were included in the normal new items last year. This year, again the export items are included in the new items list published already. (Just like the Exlusiv items I/06) The not-german models published are all the export items there will be for now. |

no problem , it's o.K. for me with the 'wrong' sound..... While 'surfing' through the different resources for the new M items i discovered a new so called display, number 00756 'Profi Züge' but can't find any hints what will be the contents of this. Does anyone know something about that ? BTW : the 'old' display 00751 can't be found on the M site, too........ Have fun with the new items Alfred |

---> It consists of 4 different freight waggons. You can see a picture at www.modellbahn-west.de, push "Neuheiten", then scroll down a little bit. Jürgen

Welcome to the forum. We have discussed the lack of information regarding new items for Systems and we can cetainly empathize with your frustration. Hopefully Märklin will be making some announcements at the Neuheiten show. Ira

Maerklin promised a new "all italian" item for this year(almost 40 years after the #3035), but there is absolutely nothing! Not even a FS version of some German goods car! What a bad surprise!

It is now official, it just has been confirmed on Marklin stand in Nuremberg : The six axles electric machine CC 40100 will be produced this year 2006 ! Very good surprise : There are also 5 different coaches completely new !It will be the model of "PBA coaches" . They are stainless steel coaches specially made by SNCF for the international line Paris Bruxelles (they are modified " Mistral coaches"). I would like so much that Marklin made it in aluminium like actual model of US coaches ! Not in plastic please ! In fact their physical appearence is very similar to actual model of " US streamlined coaches".I mean only the material.
There will be also a leading wagon with generator , exactly like the real train ! It was a famous international train called " étoile du nord " ( " North-Star"). The last typical fast trains before the TGV came to replace it .This leading wagon with generator will be sonorized !
Other good surprise : some nice features for the lock , as it will will be provided with motorized pantograph just like the Insider model of E 103, 3 years ago !
Happy news !

Pictures from the Modellbahnmesse will be available after 20hr GMT+1/2pm EST. No guarantee what the pictures will show, but it's usually quite interesting. The URL is http://www.moba-deutschland.de/toy_fair2006/index.htm. See also postings on the various fora such as Drehscheibe Online, Eisenbahn-Kurier, Stummi, ... p. Just received the Insider package including the new items brochure and the dvd with the Neuheiten video (not viewed yet except for some promising seconds on the pc). The railbus looks quite nice to me in the large pictures shown in the Magazin.

Have a look on PBA coaches ( "P" for Paris, "B" for Brussels) clik on the same site, here : http://www.railfaneurope.net/pix_frameset.htmlThen follow subdirectories: -FR french flag -Electric -Dual -CC 40100 You'll see PBA coaches on the 13th-14th-16th picture Also " étoile du nord" train with PBA coaches on the 18th-19th picture Just to see how coaches look like Which is quite interesting for us MRRoaders, is that this lok was also pulling many kinds of European coaches as we can see on other pictures ( from germany , Belgium , Holland , Danemark ...,) bye

That's me again about CC 40100 & "étoile du Nord" ...I hope that I'm not boring you with this subject As it was originally planned to run within four countries( Holland-germany-belgium-france)the CC 40100 had four pantographs . In fact This Lok only ran few times in Holland never in scheduled service .During all its life this lok mainly ran through France & belgium also through germany for a short period .So depending on which model Marklin will make, it could have only three pantographs... Anyway,At Nuremberg Toy fair Marklin has confirmed that ALL pantographs will be motorised ....As someone asked how they'll manage to install four or three motorised pantograph into a single Loksound Lok they didn't bring any precisions except confirmation that they have already found a solution . Some people felt that it could be done in a different way than they have done with Insider model of BR 103 .
About PBA coaches , the situation is completely different . ( "PBA" comes from " Paris-Brussels-Amsterdam") . They are french TEE coaches specially made for the line. I'm sure they went into service on other lines too... depending on the period but I'don't remember exactly which ones , I have to search for it...
" Etoile du Nord" has been a TEE train for a while. Coming from france, all PBA coaches were in scheduled service into several countries including Holland-germany-Belgium & France . PBA coaches were pulled by different kind of machines and probably included into various consists from various railroad companies, TEE and non TEE, depending on which era...Anybody knows ?
About TEE trains, next time I'll open a new topic... Sorry if I'm annoying yo...I like the story of these old International fast trains.....and this one was one of the last great trains with a strange machine ( a little bit fragile because complicated and too innovative at this time)and comfortable TEE coaches.....(Going to brussels I have been travelling sometimes with this train too) Too much standardized ICEs & TGVs today ( but so reliable and efficient for hurried people )that's another story...

I love it. I remember as a young child, the first train trip I took alone from Brussels to Paris was on the Etoile du Nord. My mother met me at Paris - Gare du Nord and was really proud of me and my "adventure". |
