I came upon Marklin Exclusiv item 36159.
It is a brown Krok but I cannot learn what year it was issued.
The box is not the current color combination but has the MHI symbol.
I have catalogues from 1990 thru 2010 and it's not listed.

Cany anyone assist??

Thanks,

Robert

The Insider model for 1996 was #30159 NOT 36159.

Does Marklin use different item numbers in different parts of the world?

I Googled this on the internet. The 30159 was in the 1996/1997 as the Insider model. Apparently in the Insider News 5 / 96 on page 2, Marklin offered it as an upgrade to Insiders with a decoder installed as the 36159. See http://stummi.foren-city...6159.htmloder-36159.html You may also be interested in the write up on http://www.toycollector....ile-.html&Itemid=938

Hope the links work for you ... it is amazing what yopu can find by Googling!! LOL!!

A lot of Insiders (all of Spanish insiders) says that it's a terrible mistake to do this lok analogue in 1996. Many Märklin Collectors have the new 6021 on their layout and they want to see circulate this lok on the tracks.
Märklin accepts to do some quantity of loks with 6080 decoder, but never goes to the katalog.

Hi,

the decoder used in 36159 was no regular 6080. It was a special "heavy duty" version, which also could be used for 1-gauge locos. Unfortunatly the decoder is not available any more.

The short answer is yes. There a a lot of loks that Marklin made like this in the earlier days of digital. I own 36159 which AFAIK was not widely publicized. There is also 3622 (BR194) and 3621 (V200), both models which I owned that were the digital counterparts of loks that were never catalogued as digital back in the early days of digital in the late 80s.

It was two version - 30159 and 36159 made in 1996.

The 36159 have digital version (6090) and label sticker 'digital 36159' on 30159 box, The 36159 is a rare item and around 200 Euro more that 30159 value.

See picture of 36159.

As I remember, you could choose which version to have as an Insider... I got the 30159... I think there was a certain price difference...
