Hi all,
I have a question about MFX decoders. Since they register automatically on the CS, what happens if you have two identical locomotives, like two 39010, or something like that? confused From factory, they both come with the same address. How is this conflict negociated by the CS? Does the CS know this then assigns a new address that is not being used already?

Sebastian,
Each Decoder has it own unique electronic Address or Serial Number that is assigned at manufacture, SO NO TWO decoders can have that Serial Number.
That is how they are recognised by the CS and MS.
a Good Example is Computer Network Cards. Each one has its own Serial Number or Address.
and that is used if you are not using IP Addresses for the Network.

One additional remark:

Those two locos still have the same NAME; i.e. it looks like you might have the same entry twice. Simply grab one or both of them and change the name(s) as desired.
