Hello everyone,

I have a locomotive Märklin 37915, BR 03.10, with 10 functions.
Can I replace the original decoder with one with more functions, from Märklin or ESU?
Thank you very much.

Yes, being from 2010, it should have a 21pin decoder. The mfx msd3 steam locomotive decoder is one option. Or you can get it without the sound files loaded and have the dealer install the ones that you want. Some modelers use the decoder programming tool and upload the sound files from the web.
Note; The latest ESU loksound M4 decoders are mfx auto recognition. If you have a Marklin CS3 or MS2, it's an added plus for operation and complete functions. Not sure about that with a Marklin decoder and an ESU ecos2, etc.

Thank you very much for the quick response.
I have a CS3+ and I will follow your advice.
I know the ESU decoders well, but I've also heard good references to Märklin's.
Best regards
Miguel
