Hi

I want to send a loco to Marklin's repair service. I am assuming this is the correct address - can someone please confirm?

Thanks

Cameron

Under the address you should write; GERMANY. That's for your own postal service to see. Peter.Cool

I would definitely add "Deutschland/Germany" at the bottom of the address. Most postal authorities used to recognize the D in front of the Postleitzahl (Postal Code) as the country code for Germany, but this is not used as much anymore.

I think technically one can use French as its the approved diplomatic language ... but I don't trust US postal workers to read numbers correctly if not written the 'murican way (packages have been returned) so adding "GERMANY" is a good idea. Not sure how good the mail carriers are down under.

May we ask which loco you wish to send back to mother "M" is & what the problem occurs with it . I am sure there would be heaps of info available on these hallowed pages if we knew & it may save a lot of money compared if it was send back to Germany .

Cheers Tom in Oz .

That's same address plus I wrote GERMANY on it.

Reach to Marklin from UK five working days. No issue at all.

Thanks everyone, will send shortly. Tom, its a 39192. Its not the train as such, but my bad effort at trying to replace a decoder which has resulted in bent pins on the circuit board. Enough damage from me, time for the professionals. One of my favorite locos.

The pins on the decoder are bent ? If so a fine pair of needle nose pliers & I mean really fine maybe jewellers types & good magnifying glass should help the problem to be solved . Is there a good train shop down in Melbourne ,doesn't have to carry "M" should be able to help you out or even join the ESU loco sound forum & see if any one down your way is willing to help . Would only be a 20 minute job at most . Could be a new decoder to be fitted , quick & easy .

Cheers Tom in Oz

Hey Cameron,

Have you tried Frey (down Langwarrin)

http://www.trainsetsonline.com/

Might be a heck of a lot quicker and cheaper than back to Mother Marklin. There's a guy Wolfgang lived not too far from me when I was living in Essendon and he was very capable as well. Frey have his contact details I think.

Hope this helps

As mentioned above, the international language of the UPU is french, so you could write "Allemagne" on the package, but I think it is more common to write Deutschland/Germany especially if sending to Germany from an English speaking country. I would also consider including the words "model train - repairs" or "Modelleisenbahn - Reparatur" on the part of the form for customs, as this can aid in the processing of the parcel at customs (inbound) in Germany. At the same time, it helps when German shippers are asked to write "Model Trains" in English when shipping to us because very few CBP officers understand what Modellbahn is.

37126 decoder faulty, Send to Marklin repair service 19 November (arrive a M 25 Nov) and return 23 December (dept 20 Dec Postmark date) with new decoder.

Excellent M repairservice But busy and bit longer if too many faulty came in.
