Hi,

I bought an used Märklin loco (3067, Danish Nohab Diesel) with a decoder inside that I don't recognise.

Does anyone recognise this?

Greetings, it sure looks like the early 6080 Motorola format. Is the Loco a 3600 series?
These only controlled headlights on/off/reversing front/rear. There was no high efficiency propusion when these were introduced. Circa 1985 through.

It looks like this has been retro fitted, as the 3067 originally is a analog loco with a reversing relay. No electronics at all.
I can not find any thing about that component. Can you post a photo of the other side?

Is there a chip on the other side that says "Zymos" on it? In that case it's an 80:s 6080 decoder...

It looks like the decoder from the 1986-1987 catalog on page 148.

Great detective work !

In the meanwhile I tried to look at the backside, however the decoder was mounted with strong doublesided adhesive tape, so when a pulled it apart the plastic broke...Sad

With the backside "naked" the number and manufactor is easily revealed..

Well, it's not the latest top-notch decoder and now I got even more reasons to replace it

Very interesting that this decoder is evidently produced by Blaupunkt, a well known German electronics factory! If they still exist, I'm not sure!. Google tells me they do!
Kind regards, Henk
