Is there a Marklin 60880 substitute by Viessman or some other manufacturer which is fully compatible with the original?

Sure there is, a commonly used substitute for the 60880 is Viessmanns 5217.

the Viessmann 5217 works fine (I operate it with a CS1 on the S88 bus), one thing you have to know is that is sold with a S88 cable which is very short, so it is advisable to order a longer cable as option.
Viessmann also sell Reed contacts which fit perfectly on C-gauge tracks and small magnets to be installed under the locs
