Hey Michel,

Is this event still on? I will attend if it is. I see that there hasn't been a lot of response to your invitation, but then again, how many Marklin types are there in Ontario? I'll be coming from Oakville and am open to carpooling for anyone in this area.

Michel, please send me a PM with your address.

Thanks for organizing this get together.

Harold.

I am going. BigGrin

I am not so good at carpooling - but if someone is in a jam I could help. On my schedule, however.

A great afternoon. Thanks Michel.

Michel, thanks for hosting the get together! It was nice to meet some fellow Marklinists from our area and was very informative. Now I have more incentive to design a layout and get started on building it! My 50 year old Marklin collection needs to become active again.

Cheers,

Harold.

Hi John, Adrian,

It would be a great pleasure to have you here and talk Marklin and to see my layout room. I would love to travel and see what we are all doing with our Marklin models, but reality will not permit that unless we win the lottery!

I think the closest thing to visiting members is this forum. I'm very greatful to have had the pleasure to meet some of the marklin-users.met members last weekend and I hope it will encourage other members to do the same.

A special thank you to Baggio for taking the posted pictures.

I would also like to thank Julian who made this all possible through the MARKLIN-USERS.NET forum.

Michel

Interestingly, Darwin is one of the few places in Australia the Family and I have not visited.. It might be an opportunity for a coffee catch-up. It will depend on the time of year that you plan to visit as I already have some non-MRR UK friends coming over for an extended holiday in September next year.

At this point, it might be worth mentioning that Darwin is never cool - even in Winter! For example, today is the start of winter in Australia and it is 34C in Darwin, while it is 12C in Hobart.. It is easy to pick up a head cold down here in winter if you fly between cities.. LOL

So you should take the train mentioned in this thread which will take you all the way to Adelaide from where you can get train connections to see all the other Ozzie members ... except the Tassie ones need a boat or plane as well.
