With the Frateschi H0 set one could model 7% of the prototype. |

I went on the Ghan mid 2013 from Adelaide to Darwin - right before they abolished our discounted rate.
Fantastic trip, amazing food and the booze was all included! You can jump off in Alice Springs for either 3/4 days or a week and then continue your journey for no extra charge. |

The Ghan was featured on an episode of Great Australian Rail Journies on Discovery channel (or maybe it was National Geographic).

Yep that's a long train. The VIA Canadian can get long as well...about 35 cars long in the summer so you Aussies have us beat. |

Our trip was from Darwin to Adelaide with a break at Alice Springs. The first train was one and a half sets due to filming a show on the way up. You boarded a bus to get to the carriage you were on. A great trip. |

Hello Marklineers, Our family did a trip on "The Ghan" in 1994 from Adelaide to Alice Springs. At that time the line had not been extended to Darwin; thus we did the leg Alice Springs - Darwin by air. Long time ago : my son on the right has since presented us with two grandchildren! I look forward to doing the complete new journey Adelaide - Darwin some day. Regards, PJ

The front of that train is already in Paris, while the back is just leaving Istanbul. |
