Hello everybody (I swear this is not a Linux vs whatever OS thread). Since I prefer working on Linux I was trying some planning software under Linux this past weekend and this is what I've found out: Xtrkcad is free, quite nice to do small projects but has a steep learning curve. It can export your plan as a bitmap in 1:1 scale, which you can convert to a pdf and easily print it. It has a wiki that will teach you the basic stuff. Since it is open-source and no-profit I think promoting it here poses no problem: http://www.xtrkcad.org/I have also tried the Wintrack 8.0 demo under Wine (windows "emulator" for Linux) and as of Wine version>0.9.4 it works without any problem, so I suppose you can use the full program as well. |
