I just purchased a crane thingy at a small train store, it is MARKLIN model number 4611 and is in excellent shape, not MINT because the shock thingy's in the front and back show some rust, but the crane goes up and down with that little handle when i turn it, i also put it on the track and runs smooth, and the paint is perfect with zero chips or anything, the crane is blue and all original, the box is excellent with no dents or anything, infact its closer to mint, the guy at the store stated it is a blue box MARKLIN, whatever that means, i looked on E-bay and did not find exactly what i have, i saw three items on there but none match what i bought, i paid 50.00 USD and wanted to know if it was worth the buy, please forgive me for the stupid question i am very new to MARKLIN...Ivan! |

If you think it's cool, then it's OK at any price.

The price for mint/blue boxed is between 20 and 25 euros (29-36 USD).
The $50.00 is too high. |

I think you did OK. I think the price given by Steventrain is general Ebay prices in Europe, without shipment costs. You being happy is important, +/- 10 USD is not.

I think you paid about $15-20 to much depending on the amount of rust. I helped out at my dealer the weekend before Christmas and sold a blue one in good condition with out the box for $25 |

Ivan,
You most likely paid too much for the Kranwagen. I agree with Steven that in Europe they go for around 25 Euro on E-bay. Depending on whom you purchase/win it from the total cost with shipping may end up costing you more than $50.00.
You seem happy with your purchase and I am sure it will look good on your layout and that is what ultimately counts in the long run.
