Hi, a time ago i rescued an old 3005 from the garbage of a friend's house (he didn't know what he had), and i'm working on restoring it, all the mechanical stuff is now working well with cleaning and the proper spare parts.
The frame was in very bad shape with the painting in very bad condition, right now she is completely polished and wainting for a new paint job, i have several ideas of how to do it but i would appretiate if someone can help me with what kind of paint should i use. As for the technique i think an airbrush will do the work well, am i right?
Thanks for your help

Hi franciscohq,

I believe that an airbrush is the way to paint the body of the locomotive with the help of, electrical tape (is perfect for airbrush jobs) to mask off different sections. Now about the paint... I wouldn't know what make of color would be the best, but my choice would be color for metal objects or color for cars.

The 4/2003 Insider mentions that original colours are available from your dealer as a spare part.

Hi, thanks for the answers, i want to paint it black, i can use the color of the tender wich is in very good conditions to guide me, as for the original color supllied by a dealer, i dont have one in about 2000 km around, so is very difficult to me to get original parts, when i really need it i can get it on internet but with very high prices (shipment and custom taxes), so i want to know what kind of paint should i use: enamel, acrilic, water?
Thanks in advance
Francisco
