Hi - I have just come back to modelling and into 3 rail marklin. I wish to both upgrade existing 3 rail to MFX digital and convert hamo 2 rail to 3 rail and up grade to mfx digital.

I can not find a list from marklin that shows locos and their respective motor types. Without knowing what types were used and what locos they are in - its difficult all the way down here in Australia to order the right parts. Does Marklin (or someone) produce a definite - model/motor list please? Also is there only one typ eof motor to use for mfx decoders and what is it please?

Hi Greg - welcome, here Smile

For more information on motors & more have a look at this forum's technical pages.
Simply hit the "Models & modeling" and then "Service & such" button on the left of your screen.
You'll find all Marklin motors there, except for the latest Mini C-Sinus (SDS motor) ...

Hi Greg,

Welcome to the forum.
There may be a way to work around this.
Märklin has a crossreference list on their Grman website. They refer to the old type of conversion kits, but an mfx equivalent can be found in their catalogue

http://www.maerklin.de/service/...ice/einzelteile_loks.php

Another reference, apart from the ones already mentioned by the previous posters, is a list by the Hamburger Insiders Club
http://hamst.de/html/umbausatze.html
If you scroll own a bit you'll find drawings of the common motor types and their application.

Kind regards
Guus
