Does anyone have any idea how the Marklin dealers get their display cases? I would really love to have one and I have a few friends who are Marklin dealers. Does a dealer have to order them out of a catlogue? Or are they sent out to dealers yearly? I have 3 1970's cases that I acquired from a closing hobby shop but I really like the new cases.

Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill,

The display cases you'll see in for example the "Märklin Shop-in-Shop concept" can be ordered by a dealer. There even is some kind of a dealer catalogue for that. I have to warn you though: prices are incredibly high. But on the other hand, the display cases do look good.

Thanks for the information!

I suspected the high prices but they sure do look amazing!

Thanks,
Bill

Maybe you can contact Marklin USA for the display cases.

I'm afraid those beautiful (and probably insainly expensive shop-in-shop) display cases are not available here state-side.
Marklin USA does not supply/offer any display cases, each dealer has to provide.

Very interesting,

Thanks Mike,

I will have to check with my dealer because I seem to remember he had Marklin cases, but maybe not.

Thanks,
Bill

Hello Bill,

I have one of these Display Units You can pick it up anytime (just kidding ).

The Display came via Air freight from Germany as a complete unit and cost all together U.S. $ 3000.00 and here is the kicker I believe it is made in Australia.

Should I ever close the Store I will not sell it but keep it in my home as a reminder how expensive it was.

biggrinbiggrinbiggrin I love it... Most of the furniture we have our our house comes from Sweden! I am not aware of any significant Australian furniture manufacturer that is still in business. Since the demise of firms like Chiswell and Parker who used to employ real craftsmen and high quality timber, the only place to find really good furniture is in second hand stores or deceased estate auctions.. We only have three really nice pieces of furniture.. So we buy the rest our stuff from Ikea and replace it every few years or so.. [xx(]

Any manufacturer identifying marks on the cases? We might be able to track them down from this end.. [:p]
