http://www.ad-soft.ch/_m...u/mae/3071/umbau3071.jpgOn this diagram, there have been used a relay (middle position in top) - and a function decoder. Which relay should I use in this case? I've been searching on Google for the numbers and text around the relay on the diagram - but without any results. => Is it necessary to put in a function decoder in the 3071, to make the lights being dependent of the direction? => Is it necessary to use relays to make the lights being dependent of the direction? |

I've been searching on Google for the numbers and text around the relay on the diagram - but without any results. As described, a bi-stable relay. In english: a relay which uses 2 coils and remains in the last chosen position (no return spring). Something around 12V, 2amp should do, I think. No, but it limits the amount of wires running from the front to the rear unit to 2. Quote:[size=1" face="Verdana" id="quote]quote:=> Is it necessary to use relays to make the lights being dependent of the direction? No, the relay is used to switch pickup-shoe, so current is always drawn from the front pickup shoe, independant of the direction of travel. This is handy when using stop- or braking sections in stations or in front of signals. |

Hello Arne. I have converted my 3071 with the 60904 convertion set, using relays from the different light functions (1-pole mono stable) and for the pick-up shoe directional change (2-pole bi-stable). I do not know if there are any directional change outputs on the 6092x mfx decoders, but it should be possible to make the directional change with the output to the motor, as the polarity on the green and blue wires to the motor changes with the driving direction. Have a look at my homepage www.saebonet.com, select digital convertions and 3071. |

Nice homepage, Svein!
As I understand your site - the mono-stable relays are only for the interior lights, correct?
I don't need the interior. I just simply want to convert it, so it can run digital - where the white and red lights are changing with the direction. In this case - I do only need one of the four "relays" you put in, - the bi-stable one, is this correct?
And as I want it only wtih the changing front/rear lights, do I need more than these current 2 wires which are already installed from the fabric between the front and rear cariages?
I am professional to forget the names of different items - the yellow/orange plate your relays are sitting at - I remember that I saw some plates like that before (with another colour in my memory) what are the 'name' of these plates?
- If you want to answer in Norwegian - you're welcome. I think it would help me a little more. ;-) |

Hi all As a special service for the Norwegian reading forum members and visitors, I have made some information about relays and bulb connections in Norwegian on my website. Have a look at my homepage www.saebonet.com, select "digital convertions" and "hvordan koble lys". |

Nice job with the translation, Svein!
I've been looking at it already - very nice and concrete descriptions. I think it will help me a lot more than the English description. - Thank you! :-) |
