I have a setup with a Central Station. Yesterday I got a used Krokodil digital engine as a present. How do I get the Central Station to recognize it? It's the 13305 (Marklin number 3356)

Hi Nick,

The CS will only recognize automatically new loc's that have an mfx decoder. I think that you have to select it the very first time from the CS' loc data base.

Hi Nick,

With what type of decoder has your croc been (retro)fitted? If it's the older type with dipswitches you should be able to deduct the adress from its settings.

Kind regards

If your CS has the update it has a feature called find digital address. It takes a while but it does work.

A quick search on the internet reveals that this locomotive most likely has a Delta decoder in it.

I have a CS but did not get a chance to really use it yet. I think that there should be a entry in the internal database for this item.

Just read up on how to add or call up locomotives in the manual forthe CS and I am sure all will work fine.

A quick look under the hood ofthe locomotive will definetly tell you if and what decoder you have. If there is no decoder then you may want to consider having one installed before using.

I need to know how to manually enter in the decoder code for new engines, into the central Station. I can't find my engine in the Central Station's built in list. Also is there an online resource that has all the proper digital numbers for all the engines. I guess this engine has a delta decoder. How do I get the number? THANKS for all your help.

Hi Nick,

Asuming it's a DELTA loc it could very well be 24,which is the adress commonly used for electric locomotives in that format.

Hope this helps.

Hi Nick,

Are you sure that this engine has been fitted with a digital decoder? The 3356 came from the factory with an electro-mechanical reversing relay, so I would check inside to see if there really is a decoder in there.

If there isn't, don't worry, it's not that difficult to retrofit a decoder. Go to your nearest dealer, or follow the excellent advice avaliable from this forum.
