Hi friends,

Today I had a very interesting afternoon when I assisted a friend digging out her old gauge IIm scale Playmobil US Western train set which has spent the last 15 years on her attic, with a lot of accessories. The cab roof of this 4-4-0 steamer is missing, but there is still hope the find it somewhere in one of the many boxes:

After removing the dust layer from the tracks everything worked quite well out of the box. Also the Sheriff's office is waiting for clients again:

There is also a nice Pennsylvania Railroad passenger coach (Hmm, I remember that I still need someting like this in H0 scale, would be a great eye catcher with my GG-1)

Here my friend's favourite loco, a cute little 0-4-0 (well, not quite american):

This train could well serve the drinks in her dinner room:

Finally, little Charlie has proven to be a fully devoted MRR dog, in spite of the fact that this funny trains is now frequently rumbling over his favourite rest place.

I tried to get a set of turnout and visited the Playmobile home page. However, it appears the have completely revised their toy train program. Their tracks seem to have plastic rails nowadays, so no longer suited for this train. The tracks which I have here look more like LGB stuff. I wonder if I could take the turnouts from LGB. Any hints and advices ?

The tracks look very very much like LGB.

Even stronger: AFAIK the tracks are made by LGB. (Which yields a problem for expansion nowadays as LGB is out of business, at leat for the moment)

Possibly the LGB trouble is the reason why Playmobil changed their toy train system (or the origin ?). I hope it is possible to get some tracks from a mrr flea market.
