I have been looking for the light arrangement for the Swiss Ae 6/6. Amongst others I found several pics. here: http://www.michaeltaylor.ca/ in his swiss section, but they are all daylight shots. Looking closely at the pictures there are no indication of a red tail light used on these Ae 6/6 locs. Does anybody know if the Ae 6/6 loc in fact did use a red tail light or never , Perhaps our M* models are correct with three white lights in the forward direction and one white (lower rh) as a tail light |

Hi Benny, Generally speaking a Swiss loco uses a red taillight-the right one- in solo operation,or when it pushes a train two reds. Part of this information is my own observation from several trainrides in Switzerland. A good source of information might be this one: http://www.lokifahrer.ch/, especially this page: http://www.lokifahrer.ch/Signale/Zugsignale.htmlike the title already suggests it's a site written by a Swiss engineer. Kind regards Guus P.S.:Another source of information I have is the Swiss signal book (issue 1982),which more or less says the same. Funny thing is their examples are based on a Re 4/4II and the only picture of an Ae 6/6 shows a daylight variant on the general rule.A red/white striped cover over the right rear lamp! |
Kind regards, Guus |
