Hello to all,

i just purchased a "thomas the train" with digital decoder. the plan is to use the decoder to convert a HAMO. all functions (braking delay, max speed, and address) of the decoder is programmable with Mobile Station.

the question is: thomas the train has no lights. is there any chance that the decoder have outputs for this - and outputs for controlling a smoke generator?

thanks for all your help.

Why? There are much less expensive options around other than cannibalizing Thomas.

hi,

you're right. but problem is availability. in turkey it is not easy to find the type of decoder you want. this is a quite viable option considering what i paid for Thomas.

There is probably no output for lights on this decoder. Other cheap starter set locos have a decoder without functions. Try to find a decoder from a 60760 set instead, it's basically the same - but with functions. Or a LokPilot - it is also programmable by MS.

Why not try ebay? Even if you have to pay for freight costs, a decoder is a very small item and easy to sent in a letter. Most sellers are willing to sell to other countries, at least if you ask before you bid!
