Hello,
How well does the transfer table work? Does it hang up much? Given the age of the plastic construction of the controller, would it be found as warped as the switch controllers made during the same time? I'd just like a first hand opinion if it's worth the pursuit to find one. Thank you.

I have it. (and the turntable also) It´s okay, but not more than that.
It´s definatly not the most exiting of constructions.
It´s VERY noisy.
The optional overhead wire-kit is still not out for the new catenary system (or am I wrong?).
I find that it takes up too much space, compared to the turntable, which I find much better on many points; TT is more flexible with its expansions and freedom of where to install the tracks.
The transfer table cannot be expanded, and the tracks cannot be moved.
No warping of controller.
No hanging up (afair).
I regret having bought it. Go for the TT.

I was thinking the same in regards to space and that I already have a turntable but wanted to see if adding additional engine storage was worth it. Thank you for your reply.

My father has one, and it is indeed VERY noisy. Quite disappointing for a Märklin construction.
Absolutly AFB-NOHAB fan ;-)
