Is it possible to connect a Marklin 6021 and uhlenbrock IB-Switch (item 65800 keyboard) ????

Hi,

have a look at http://www.uhlenbrock.de/3/9/1/INDEX.HTM and read the "6021 LocoNet Adapter" manual.

I think this manual should answer some questions, maybe other members of this list have real life experience .....

As Helmut has said, a 6021-Loconet Adapter will allow you to connect not even an IB-Switch but every Loconet device offered by Uhlenbrock and all Loconet compatible devices from other vendors.

I just wish the 6021-LocoNet adapter was available also without the IR-input, which I don't need (at a more affordable price). The LocoNet has some really interesting things to offer. The IB-Switch is just one example, where you can program routes and use feedback from other LocoNet devices to trigger other events. Combined with Switch-control you can have automatic train control without the need of a computer. Doing this with Memory (6043) is possible, but the price of that device is approximately the same as the IB-Switch, Switch-Com and the adapter combined, since you need s88 decoders as well.

And LocoNet is also the only way to connect a Mobile Station to a 6021...
