My wife watched this series on Netflix, Home for Christmas, and told me the new season just released and had a protagonist's father with a model train layout in one of the episodes. Of course, I had to see it and it was a Christmas layout in his living room with moving model cars as well. Not sure if production found an existing one or built it for the show. Nice to see a character with a MMR and I wonder if anyone has any further information regarding it?

I dont know anyhting about it, but I can see that there are two separate layouts shown; One that looks like Märklin vintage in the background, and another one that is 2-rail, with working trains and a moving truck with lights.
In the end-scene the "dad" is gifted a vintage Märklin lok (BR81). Its seems like they are trying to hide the slider/ski at first, but later it is clearly seen. No Märklin user would ever press the slider fully into the frame of the loco, in order to hide it.

My bet is, that these are borrowed existing layouts, rather than build for the show; They are both handy small layouts, easy to set up and store away for X-mas.
