I'm currently converting an older Marklin engine to digital using decoder 60983. Should the black wire be grounded to the chassis or the blue/black wire or both? I getting myself confused. Thanks for your help.

Hi Dave,
(page 22 of manual) Does that mean that you connect the blue/black wire ONLY if you are also using special sensors that require programming?
