Cable disconnected from stator - 2025-10-31 at 15.12.54.jpeg
The picture has cable on the stator that got loose, and I've not been able to put it back again.
Does anybody know how to properly put it back, or of an alternative way to connect it again?
Also, does someone know the specific name of this cable?

Many thanks in advance.

Regards
Antonio

The loose wire was inserted between the plastic top and wires of the stator.

Hi Antonio
What happened is the return 2 wires coming out of the inner side of the stator coil are gathered in a black tube and normally connected to the brush holder nearby, has been broken.
Basically either you can
- replace the induction coiil (standard LFCM - Large Flat Collector Motor) Many spares on the market due to digitalization of similar locos
- unwind both winding and rewind them after leaving 5 cm extra length for connection to the brush. Attention : winding is not that easy without the proper windind machine and each winding direction must be opposed (so that one winding produce a field and the other one produces a field in the opposed direction.
- replace the motor with an HDLA motor (60944) and connect an a mLD3 decoder (60972 or 60982). This is the coslier solution but now the loco has full regulation, is MFX, DCC MM2 and AC capable.

Cheers
Jean

Know wiring motors is not easy. Have a nice weekend.

Hi Antonio,

Below is a link to rewinding the coil as from the photos you provided the double wires from the middle of the coil are broken.

The article below is useful if you want to have digital conversion and better motor to obtain better slow running and smoother high speeds.

3050 or 3650 Motor and Decoder Upgrade

I hope you find the information useful
