Hi all,

I have one of the new BR 24s, whose decoder was working great but the loco not moving, which of course is an issue. I thought it was a bad motor, but it turns out this blue wire for the motor control came loose/unsoldered as shown. Easy fix, if you know where to connect it...

The problem- I don't know where to connect it back up to? so I was wondering if anyone had a way to look this up? "A4" would be my guess, but I don't want to guess...

Thanks in advance!

You can see where is was soldered before, on the picture the solderpad is just to the left of where the green cable is soldered.

It does appear the cable was damaged however, some blue plastic from the wire isolation is sticking to the red cable. It is possible the wire became so hot it partially melted the plastic and desoldered itself! That should not happen and you should find the cause for that. It is an indication of too much current being drawn.

After the repair please check the current consumption of the loco. Or maybe measure the resistance of the motor before the repair (between green and blue).

Causes could be a lot if things, oil on the motor brushes would be my guess now.
