Hi,

I am intrigued to hear how overhead pickup affects running performance of Z Scale models?

I would imagine it does nothing for the slow speed running, but maybe inproves haulage? Is electrical pick-up from the pantograph as finnicky as it is from the wheels?

I'll be very interested to hear any comments!

Cheers

Chris

I haven't used the overhead lines, but I imagine one factor is how the force exerted by the springs in the catenary on the loco compared with the force of gravity that pushes the loco's wheels onto the track.
