I am so happy, I managed to score these really nice coaches from eBay, thanks to Roland. I already have of coach with a break house and a luggage car as well, and with these two more I think it will make a very nice consist. I have a BR78 to go with it which is more-or-less period correct I think (bit to late). Am I correct saying that these coaches are very old? Judging by the 4 digit product number and also the box says "Made in West Germany"? And these were not made later, right? I was surprised that it was a decent price. I would assume these are thought after models. Reason I am posting this, because I would like to add some lights to these coaches. I have a few umbauwagens and for those I found a few Marklin 5605 light kits. Are there are modern replacements available for these? I don't think these (or similar are sold any more). What I really need are these pickups: I can add the lights and everything else, but these spring loaded pickups are perfect. Any recommendations?

Can you take the power from the loco through the coaches. You could use Viessmann LED strips. Not sure how this works with big gauge |
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer. |

Not sure how this works with big gauge I am not a huge fan of wires between the loco and the wagons. I designed a powerpack for my cars, I still have a spare units, I would prefer to use them. I am using warm white LED strips for these project and they provide excellent results. I turn down the supply voltage for the stips to 10V, which makes them dimmer and even more warmer.

Just in case it becomed useful for somebody else as well. I contacted Marklin support and was told that even though 5605 is not sold any more, the pickup is still available as replacement part E493420 18 EUR a piece so that is 36 EUR for a wagon. Considerable portion what I paid for the entire wagon second hand
