Guys, we're trying to find a replacement drive gear (picture below) for a very old BR24. Any ideas?

Hi John, The loco is number 3003. According to the Märklin parts list that gear is no 9 which is part number 202260 (Z30/14). The 30 relates to the number of teeth on the outer gear and the 14 the number on the inner gear.

Have a look for the part number on Ebay - there is currently a seller in Italy with some. I've bought from them before and they were very reliable with cheap postage.
I'm sure there will be others on there somewhere too.

If you go to the Marklin.de website and click on 'Spare Parts' at the top it will take you to the spares search page. Enter 3003 and on the page that appears you will find a link to the exploded diagram - (scroll down slightly and you should see it). This has a very basic wiring diagram on it - it is very basic though.
It's always worth saving these sheets and building up a collection. They can be quite useful.

Good luck with it - it's good to see another one being rescued.

EXCELLENT, thank you so much, Paul. I had JUST found the exploded drawing when you answered so I'm glad you found the same thing (so I'm learning my way around, finally). It looks like the 60760 decoder would work for this loco. Would you agree? Thanks again!

The 60760 kit will not work for your lok. The kit is for a DCM type motor. yours has a sfcm motor
