Hi Adrian Here a Märklinist so little knowledge of this equipement
It seems that we are dealing with a current picking boggie normally kept in place by 2 little tabs and here, one of them is broken (so it seems) I would fix it by replacing is with a piece of metal same diameter and glued by heath to the chassis Cheers Jean |

It is likely that the model will have to be disassembled in order to mount the part back in place. I am sure that it does not just pop back in.
You may need to get in touch with Kato to find the process to repair.
Do you have a parts list or exploded diagram for your model?
Is there a model number of the train or on the box?
Google suggests it is 30805. I could not find a parts list.
