I am currently using railroad modeller to design my my first layout, I had some suggestions from other user to put a reverse loop, I been trying to plan one out but im stuck. I would appreciate any assistance and I can send me layout file also.
Thanks in advance,
Rick.

Hi Rick You don't say what system you are using. In 3 rails (Märklin HO) it is the easiest thing: only find the correct geometry I suggest you make your selection from these plans by Märklin Märklin free track plansAnother possibility is to use track plan sofware (I use Wintrack) Remember that these software can be used FOR FREE if you don't store the plan file. You may always make a screen copy of your track figure Here is an example using C Track and Wintrack Last, you have the old way: have plenty of tracks of various lengths and radii and make the figure you want Cheers Jean |

Hi Rick, Something to consider - It looks like you have sufficient room to get rid of R1 curves on the main line. Using R2 and R3 will allow the trains to "flow" better around the curves.

If your consists are short and you have the room you can also use a wye to reverse. All you need is a three way switch. Unfortunately it appears your short sections are too short for a wye or a reverse loop.

Regards, Roger I am very limited on room and size reasoning for the R1 curves, I used a Marklin sample diagram and just added few extra tracks I had.

Hi Rick, I'm not a C-track nor Wintrack user, but could you put a reversing loop in the upper right part of your layout behind the station, at least for the inner mainline? And the same for the other main line in the upper left area? Brian
