Hello folks, I am trying to identify the actual article number for a grey coloured load in an El-u 061 wagon, as seen in the attached photo.

Is it from a set or a special run perhaps?20250212_065848.jpg

Many thanks and kind Regards

It may be from a start set, but these wagons were available with a coal load and also with a gravel load, which is what I think you have. The only difference is the colour of the load molding.

Gravel in America is a mixture of sand and stone. Not sure about Germany but that looks to regular to be gravel. Perhaps paving stones?

Hi Waughfair, (Welcome! what's your name?),
Per Kohl's, 4431's came with the black coal load. 4430's came empty except for the version sold in the 2853 Track Construction Train set, which had a 4430 loaded with gravel; sold 1980-1984. Yours looks like it has close couplers; not sure if those are the originals or not.
I hope that helps some.
Brian

You can use Testors brown, grey, or black stain to highlight or darken the colors. Sugar beets are brownish. I think these were used for that as well.

Many thanks Brian,

This is exactly what I was looking for. I've got to get one of those Kohl's catalogues.

My name is Stephen and I sincerely appologize for having neglected to include it in my original post. I will endevour to be better moving forward.

Kind regards

Stephen

This may help, although it only gives results up to 2005:
