I've purchased a few older Marklin 409X series passenger cars and a few have wheels that are coated in looks line lime scale or rust on them. I need to know what size of wheels I need to replace these damaged wheels. I purchased some on eBay and they are too small and don't work well. I think they are in the 13mm size range?

Can anyone provide the correct replacement size for these?

Hi, 4091-4099 are all of the 27cm long coach size. My catalogs don't show a spare AC wheelset but do show "70058" as a DC wheelset. It's now an "E700580" part from Marklin. Marklin's site shows those are used on lots of other wagons as a DC conversion set, and the AC replacement set is E700150 for those wagons. So in a roundabout way E700150 may be what you need; there are sources for them on the internet and eBay. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Corrosion is common for older wheels. Keep them clean, and lightly oiled and wrapped in newspaper or brown packaging paper when storing. A dessicant packet if in original boxes. New wheels may not have this problem if they are nickel silver or high quality stainless steel.

I believe that the 409X had a diameter of 11mm

There are different wheels depending on the year of production. Show us what you need. Especially the bogies.
Best regards
