This is the hopper or ballast wagon.

I have some of these, some missing wheels and some with poor looking wheels that have been converted to DC by drilling the wheels and putting a plastic sleeve on the axles.

Those that have these wheels really do not run at all well on my M track!

Can anyone help me with the correct Marklin number for AC replacements? Alternatively a source of cheaper replacements?

Also, how do you measure a wheel? Diameter including flanges or without.

There is one set that looks as if it might be original.
Axle stepped
Axle length 25mm
Wheel diameter including flanges 15mm
Wheel diameter excluding flanges 12mm

Any help much appreciated, when I know what i'm looking for I'll post in teh 'Wanted" section

Hi Michael,

Märklin do not seem to offer these older wheelsets as spare parts.
The wheelsets for the similar 4413 are the standard which fit in the plastic axleboxes https://www.maerklinshop.de/en/s...rts/33206/wheelset-2-pcs.

The site which might have the correct wheelset is at https://www.modellbahnradsatz.de...-wechselstromanlagen-ac/
I do order from them occasionally, but remembering how is a bit of a mystery.
I think i send an email and follow instructions.

Kimball
HO Scale - Märklin (ep II-III and VI, C Track, digital) - 2 rail HO (Queensland Australia, UK, USA) - 3 rail OO (English Hornby Dublo) - old clockwork O gauge - Live Steam 90mm (3.1/2 inch) gauge.
