Hi There!
I have a s88 DC and a CS3 +. I am looking to do train detection in sections of the track and was hoping someone could provide insight on how to use the DC version of the S88 to do so. I understand the 60881 S88 AC is the "right" tool for the job, but have seen references online to using the s88 DC for this purpose. My current (ha!) understanding is that it would potentially work to isolate the center rail and power a section of track from the s88 DC, and connect the "ground" of the S88 DC to the power wire from the CS3/overall system. I am worried about current limits of the S88 DC. Could anyone provide insight for this approach, since I have no seen any details about this less than typical set up online? Thanks!

That should be correct.

I wouldn’t worry about limits, since you probably only have one train in each section, max.
