Vintage Streamline Locomotives- Which one is best?

I am looking at some vintage streamline locomotives and wonder which one is the best one if you had to pick just one... Tough one! The first choice is: 1- Brawa 40131, BR 19.10 # 19 001 2- Roco 69205 BR 01.10 # 01 1001 3- Marklin 3991 BR 03 # 03 1056 (Dark Grey Blue?) there is another 3791 but cannot tell much difference in color... I know the Marklin quality is unbeatable, but know nothing about Brawa or Roco... Given the current prices, it seems that Brawa is a better quality product with better detail than Roco... Nice, I have a br 10 Marklin. If I were going to get another, I would get a br 05 in red.

I have a BR10.002. It is... "okay". Not too special. Old type motor. Yellow led frontlights. |

Sounds like mine Henrik! I like the old motor though. It's the #37080 from '98-99. Chuffing, whistle, running gear lights, but the smoke generator is and always was weak. I've changed it, still doesn't work.

Marklin 3094, the old analogue one, is one of the noisiest locos around. The sound of the motor resonates inside the cast metal body. I've put some foam insulation in there which helps...a bit.

I personaly prefer the Märklin BR 03.10 streamlined (black, grey or the USA version). The motor sound resonates and it makes a lot of noise as previously posted. The "correction" was also posted :-)

I forgot to mention that all my stuff is older including M-track, so the yellowish lights don't bother me... Again, my question now is geared more towards the quality of Roco 69205 BR 01.10 # 01 1001, since it has nice detail and is not as expensive as the Brawa 40131, BR 19.10 # 19 001. I just don't know much about Roco in general but I imagine is more rugged than any older Liliput locomotives and hopefully you can still get parts...

I am not the expert here, but I believe some earlier Brawa had issues with zinc castings. Something to look into before purchase. |

Well, good to know... My preference is the Roco 69205 BR 01.10 # 01 1001 just because of price alone... Wonder if anyone had one and could comment on this brand/model...
