Does anyone know where I can find the user manual for an older Marklin engine. 3005 model. I bought it at a train show and it runs. I just replaced the rubber tires, but the lights don't work. I purchased new bulbs but I don't see how to replace them. Thanks!

It either has a screw in bulb, or a soldered on or plug in prongs.

Hi I have all Märklin manuals from 1936 in pdf but in various languages (English, French, German depending on the year I think you are looking for the DA800, initially plastic body (1954-spanish catalogue) and later die cast (from 1956-spanish catalogue) I can send a pdf version free of charge but I need an email address to send it Cheers Jean |

I don't have the model and can't open the PDF, however, I think that it is like all other models of the era. You have to remove the body (by unscrewing the screw at the top of the model) then you will see the 2 bulbs. I guess that you will find that a wire is disconnected or that the bulbs do not make a contact with the cooper strip behind it.

I've had the cover off my engine and cleaned the gears superficially, would like to get further inside. Plus I think the brushes may need cleaned or replaced. I read that if the engine seems like it's losing connection with the track ("jumping") the brushes need replaced. This is old track and I cleaned it up pretty well, but I assumed the jumping was from the old track. - djb |
