I don't know if this has been mentioned before but it is worth a watch (if you can get it). It is a repeat.

The bit that interested me most was the building of a very long layout based on our West Coast main line for Chester Cathedral and more specifically the tensioning of catenary.

OK, so it is not Marklin nor is it HO...

I saw the series when it was first broadcast. IIRC the Jools Holland episode is the best of the series.
