I was rather disappointed when the 7520002 Re 4/4II (420) 11108 in the Swiss Express livery was delivered with some details incorrectly positioned on the locomotive body.
My first reaction was to simply return the model and to demand that Roco correct their mistakes. I ended up keeping the locomotive as is although I am still not pleased about it.
I did contact Roco and let them know how I felt and let them know that they should correct this mistake in any future reedition of a similar model.

In 2024, Roco announced new models of the Re 4/4II series in the original green, 1990s red (7520138) and the BLS (Re 420) livery.
The first one to be released was the BLS model, which is a repainted Swiss Express model. That model came out to positive reviews and had the details corrected compared to the 2023 model.
Shortly thereafter, the red model was released. Unlike the BLS model, the red one represents the series production with the modifications introduced since delivery, including the red livery, the halogen (rectangular) headlight assembly with the taillights on the outer sides and other new elements like the destination sign and rear mirrors. I was anticipating the arrival of my model.
Over the past few days, I have read in German forums that there is an issue with the headlights on one end of the model. Initially, I assumed that it was simply the case of the lens inserts being installed inverted, so that the taillight was on the inside rather than on the outer side. As more information came out, some reports now suggest that it is an element of the locomotive shell that is incorrect (https://www.stummiforum.de/t2281...-Roco-Re-II-der-SBB.html see Post 23).

If it is not simply a case of an inverted insert, I will have no choice but to return the model unless the company provides a correct replacement shell.
When I bought the earlier 69841 Re 4/4II in red, the lights shone through the locomotive shell. At that point, the model cost around 200 EUR and I was willing to pay another 100 EUR for a green shell which did not have the same issue.
Today, the new locomotive sells for around 400 EUR and for that, I expect the company to verify before and during production to eliminate small errors and flaws.

It should arrive within a week and I will be dealing with the shop and with Roco if there are any problems that cannot easily be remedied.

Best regards

Not looking very promising. A major Swiss dealer just posted this on Stummi:

Quote:
Ich als Händler habe alle SBB Re 4/4 II und BLS NINA zurückgesendet.
Es waren auch Haltestangen abgebrochen und verbogen. Hatten auch Scheuerstellen vorne.
Die neue Verpackung ist eine Katastrophe.

"As dealer, I have sent all my SBB Re 4/4II and BLS Re 420 back.
There were also broken and bent grab bars (railings). Most models also had some degree of scratches/scrapes.
The new packaging is a disaster" (My translation)

I just received the package with my 7520138 Re 4/4II. Unfortunately, I have no choice but to return it immediately to the dealer, who will deal with any repairs/replacement with Roco.

I have now prepared the Re 4/4II 7520138 for it's return trip across Canada.
I am now out of pocket $88 in addition to the price of the locomotive and tax paid.
I am going to hold Roco responsible for these additional costs. If the model is sent back to me no charge, I will forgo claiming the original shipping costs and will accept a credit in the amount of the return shipping amount of $45.
I don't hold the dealer responsible for the postal costs, as they did what they were supposed to do. The fault lies directly with the manufacturer for shipping an item that should not have passed Quality Control during production.
I expect that it will take a few weeks before the locomotive reaches Austria or Germany and I will probably hear some news early in the New Year.

Tonight, I noted that the dealer has refunded the full purchase price and all shipping costs for the 7520138.
I am trying to figure out what it means for my model. Does it mean that the dealer has essentially cancelled my order rather than sending the model back for repairs/replacement.
I wanted the model. I liked the idea of having this one with the destination signs, which is why I chose it over the green one, even after the issues with the details on the Re 4/4II "Swiss Express"
I have sent an email to moba.cc and hoping to get some clarification from both the dealer and from the manufacturer.

I hope that in this era of declining popularity of the hobby, they take the satisfaction of existing clients to heart and figure out a solution.

After a few disheartening automatic or generic replies to my emails to Roco in German, I finally received a reply to an email sent in English, in which they informed me that repaired locomotives are available as of today.

I informed my dealer and instructed them to order one for me (if they have been repaired)
