Hi All

Has anyone here got any experience or know if its possible for someone in a different city to access control of my CS3 for some fun railroading.
I can get the web contol working and all but cant seem to connect a computer that is not on my network/wifi home network. VNC and launching the CS3 screen server only seems to work when its on the same network as my home router...

Any held would be great.

Thanks,
Eugene

Hi,

You will need the external ip address of your router provided by your ISP. Then check what port(s) is used by the CS3 and perhaps the VNC. Find out how to do portmapping on your router. But remember, open up a link through your router is always a risk.

Hi Eugene
Normally you let your modem-router decide for the IP address of the CS3 192.168.x.y
It works perfectly well on a LAN in a house BUT there is no guarantee that the same IP address is not used ANYWHERE else
so you may want to try a different IP address where you change the x and y values.
Cheers
Jean

I am not sure why you would want to do that as unless you have cameras covering the entire layout you might have a disaster plus what enjoyment would there be for you?

Hello, I suggest to use a remote software connection between Pc´s such as Team viewer or Anydesk. Then you can manage the local computer remotely with your Märklin Cs3. It looks difficult but it is easy to configure and to operate.
The big question if you have cameras to see the trains...
