hi all,

i have a loco that i'm controlling in DCC mode, and i have this issue : i put in on my program track, which is directly connected to my MS2 thriugh a switch (so the main track power is off when the program track is on), so i have no interferences.

when i read a cv value from the loco (and cv number), it returns the value "0" roughly 60% / 70% of times, and the correct value in the other cases. could this be due to some bad wirings ? or is it more probable that there is a problem with the loco decoder ? the loco seems to behave correctly when used on the track, but i cannot manage to read its cv values even if i connect an (updated) CS3+ program track output to my program track. I click on "read all", it reads just 3 cvs, and then it stops with the message "cv read error".

thx for any hints

When reading CVs, the MS2 asks questions to the decoder and the decoder replies by consuming power (usually activating the motor) or by doing nothing.

The sensitivity of the MS2 is not great and you may get false results if the power consumption is very low.

Maybe you can read the decoder if you temporarily plug it into a different loco or a decoder tester.

Tom
