The latest version is "2.5.2(6)".
On the site is a link to a "2.5" update PDF with information about 2.5.1.
So maybe the ".2" update is for some technical reasons or bug fixes and does not require an update of the PDF.
Regards
Tom

I think the 2.5.2 was a quickly released update to deal with issues with ESU decoders caused by 2.5.1. Not sure if it did as I have very few ESU decoders.

Hi François
I can't answer for all situations but the version 2.5.2 caused one of my Märklin locos with an ESU LokSound 5 micro decoder to lose all its physical outputs (no lights, no external light control).
I wrote to Märklin and they advised me to visit my dealer to fix the problem. I call that a useless side pass.
When I ask the ESU forum, all said that, contrary to the message on the CS3, M. cannot change the firmware (but obviously Marklin can spoil it), a few advised me to use the ESU Lokprogrammer to reprogram the firmware. Alas I don't have a Lokprogrammer and its not worth it to buy one.
In this case I used the ESU decoder because of its compacity. So using a 140€ tool to repair a 105€ decoder makes no sense.
Cheers
Jean

Except that the 140 Euro tool repairs more than one 105 euro decoder. I have the tool and find it very useful. In this case, you can "backup" the settings and reload them if there is a problem.

I believe it's from the CS3 web browser.

It is a good practice to save the existing version, preferably to a thumb drive, before you update so if you are unhappy with what the update has done to your system you can easily and quickly go back to what you were happy with.

The only thing it updates is the gui and the lokicons. So perhaps mostly for a new locomotive.

It could be that the cs3-gui update was just some minor bug fixes as it did not even receive a new version number.?
The extra size is probably also because of the booster update and the MS2 update (from 4.13 to 4.15)
