Pondering the purchase of a Jeco 3 rail RC2 in the Green Cargo green livery or do I wait and see if Marklin release that livery again with the new metal body?
What are Jeco locos like?

Jeco has improved quality a lot and the new Rc2 batch will have metal gear. Their previous loco, T23 made a great impression on reviews but it costs more than the Rc2. Train master on YouTube, English subtitles available MJ Magasinet I just have the X2000 from Jeco and after replacing the plastic gears on the drive shafts to the new metal one l’m happy. I still hope and think both Roco and Märklin will produce a Rc4 in GC in the coming years. Right now I think the Rc6 in SSRT and the Blue-X livery are in high demand due to the manufacturer HNOLL has made a lot of very attractive passenger coaches of the highest quality. If we are lucky, someone makes the Rd2 that is the GC upgraded and modernised version of Rc2. Roco also will produce the Rm in a double pack. The 6 locos are still in service and were recently sold to another freight hauler. |

At one point, Jeco was releasing models that were based on Roco or Lima models. I know that Jeco AB was the Swedish distributor for Roco until around 2004. I think they may also have been distributor for Lima in that market too.
The X-2000 was an in-house production. I don't know who did the actual manufacturing for Jeco. It may have been Modern Gala, Run East or one of the other Chinese companies doing contract work for other companies. If anybody has more precise information, it would be welcome.

Thanks everyone. I've gone through with the purchase so see what happens. I read someone here tricked up an X2000 and after that it worked well. only issue is the slider flopped around and shorted on point frogs.
