I just received my ESU 36650 BLS Bt Pilot coach to complete my Piko BLS EWI consist. The model looks very nice and seems well designed. Right out of the box, the first thing that I noted is that the roof colour does not match the Piko coaches. It matches the Liliput and Hag/Lima coaches better. The doors are a perfect match for the Piko models, whereas the Liliput, Hag and Lima models all have the wider SBB NPZ type doors. I'm going to have to dig through photos to see if the colour difference is prototypical. Lima (L) - ESU (R) Piko (L) - ESU (R) I am also going to have to install the slider and make sure that the coach is setup for AC operation so that I can test it. I plan on running this train with one of my Roco BLS Re 4/4 (425). https://www.bahnbilder.de/1200/d...wi-pendel-hat-741185.jpgI have a similar train running with a Re 420.5 and an ex-SBB BDt pilot coach. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wik...ietschtalbrücke.jpgFor now, the pilot coach might also find itself running with the GoldenPass train, as I do not have a pilot coach for that consist. I wonder if the BLS ever had to temporarily swap out pilot coaches on that train that would make my consist prototypical? More to follow... Regards Mike C Edited by user 14 April 2024 18:35:40(UTC)
