Hello from Spain,
I have just bought a 3013 NS analogic in good condition.
First trial everything OK.
I disassemble the body to reach the screws of the pantographs. I run the loko without the body, everything OK
But...when I assemble again the body and run it, it only goes in one direction. I try to switch, it tries but only a sound and doesn't move. I switch again and switches OK in the other direction. If I disassemble the body and try everything perfect.
I check the manual lever and apparently it doesn't interfere in this problem
Any idea?
Thanks in advance
Best regards

The 3013 (SEH800) has an inversion unit with three positions. It will go forward. When the inversion pulse is activated, it goes to neutral, which is stationary with all lights on. When the inversion pulse is activated again, it will move in the opposite direction. The neutral position will occur with each inversion.
I seem to remember that the manual lever also went through the three cycles.

Regards

Best is to show the reverse relais. 3013 did nothing have the three positions anymore- only SEH. If it had been working fine before dismantling then you must have done something wrong when assembling the loco.

Did you remove the light bulbs and holders from the body before putting it back on the chassis? or did you try to put the body back on with the light bulbs in place?

The light holders have to be put back in once the body is on the chassis. If you leave them in the body and then try to put it back on the chassis it can cause shorts because the bulbs are pushing downwards onto the contacts rather than pushing against the front of them.

The lighting on this loco is directional so if the bulbs are only causing a short at one end then the loco will run one way ok but not the other way.
If you did do this then I would suggest removing the body again and removing the light holders from each end of it. Check that the springy bulb contacts on the chassis aren't bent down and touching the chassis. Then put the body back on and finally slide in the bulbs with their holders and secure with the tiny screws.

I did this on a SET800 once and couldn't figure out what was wrong!

That's excellent Cageil.
It's the same on a lot of the earlier locos. I found out the hard way too!
