Hi Miguel With the latest CS3 software version, things have changed and now it is about: - connecting the CS3 to the Internet and knowing its IP address or setting a manual address on the CS3 as follows 192.168.0.xxx or 192.168.1.xxx (depending on your Router) - on your PC (mine is Windows 11), open your browser (mine is Edge) and type the CS3 IP address in the name / address field (upper part of screen) - select system (top left tab) - select CS3 - scroll down until you see "Locomotive images" and select it You will have a screen like this as indicated on the image above: - select where the icon will be stored - select upload - drag and drop the icon from another application on your PC - upload it Cheers Jean |

You can no longer do it with a thumb drive? Seems to me that was easier.

Hi Märklin added plenty of new fonctionalities in v2.5.1(0) - new webserver to control the CS3 independantly of the on-screen control - new remote operation using an iPhone or an Android giving access to locos, switches, layout, events - the former VNC control still works but its limits show: only fonctions offered on the CS3 screen are displayed. VNC is a remote replica of the CS3 screen (unlike the new webserver) Besides, you can't make screen copies of VNC screens - the old CS2.exe application from Märklin still works BUT you can't use the LAYOUT fonction (layout display method has changed from CS2). The application is still good to drive locos, operate switches, etc. So yes, the image transfer is different but not THAT inconvenient. Cheers Jean Edited by user 27 February 2024 18:56:06(UTC)

I have only done it twice. Once for my SBB re 420 Munich Zurich and the JC sielbahn. Shortly afterward, an update included new loco icons. The 420 was in there then. I either used the USB drive or connected to the Internet via a network cable.

Hi Fernando To be fair to Märklin, they did it but mostly in German (Youtube, etc). Nothing to brag for as I studied German for 11 years with little results but then I had a "petite amie Allemande" (German Sweet hart) that made me become fluent in a couple of months. Cheers Jean |
