Hey guys!

I need help on CV programming. I’d wish to lower the volume level of the squealing brake sounds, but a few questions arise as I don’t quite know what this part in the full CV list means (see picture):

IMG_4586.jpeg

Do I first have to set CV31 to value 16 and then CV32 to value 0 before I can program the individual sound slots?

I have only MS2 so I can’t write several CVs at one time… is this a problem?

Also… CVs 301-328 Volume of Sounds 1 – 28 BUT brake squealing sound is not assigned to any of the normal sounds slots? Is it at slot 28?

An alternative is to take out the decoder to the Märklin decoder programmer and do the change with mDT, but I don’t want to remove and re seat the decoder everytime I need to make a change thou.

Thanks!

Hello Eino
The short answer is CV 146 is to adjust the volume of squealing according to a Märklin technical tipp 329 here
https://www.maerklin.de/fileadmi..._-_Bremsenquietschen.pdf

The other issue you raise: "I can’t write several CVs at one time"
the MS2 like the CS3 change only one CV at a time and update the flash memory "on the fly".

Other Sound Squealing related CVs
When I look into CV list for Märklin, here is the total MFX list (I assume you operate with it).
Here it is:
https://www.maerklin.de/fileadmi...onen/CV-Tabelle-mSD3.pdf
In the CV list there seem to be many CVs related to brake squealing

I think the other CVs for adjusting brakes are different of what you are trying to do:
- CV114 Squesling OFF
- CV 4 brake delay
- CV 37 Normal or inverted Brake operation
- CV 64 speed level for squealing
- CV 163 triggering correction
- CV 164 duration of squesling
- CV 253 constant brake path activation
- CV 254 constant brake path forwards
- CV 255 constant brake path reverse

Cheers
Jean

Hi Jean,

Sounds like what I need! Will try tomorrow. I operate with DCC since Rocrail + Can Digital Bahn + MS2/Trackbox is not so good with MFX.

Hi QQQ1970
I included the pathnames into my reply why can't you use it (you just need to click on them). Aren't they working for you? I just checked it works here.
No distribution list
