Hi
I have been using the Tamiya Quick setting liquid glue to built the z gauge kits I have buying from Vollmer, Kibri and others.
My wife has breathing issues and been complaining about the vapors given off.
I knew that inhaling the product wasn't good for me either.
Since I am new to the hobby, now was a good time to try and find an alternative.
I found the Testors Non-Toxic liquid cement for plastic models and thought I would give it a try.
While it doesn't bite as quickly as the Tamiya cement, it does set pretty quickly and seems to fuse the plastic.
A slower reaction is actually a good thing because it allows for some of the really small bits to be gently repositioned as they dry.
For some parts of these kits I'll need the Tamiya, but this helps mitigate the use.
It does list the product as flammable, but smells like lemons which is what I believe to be the basis of the glues ability to bond.

I do use the Tamiya for mainly small parts which need quick setting. Normally I use Faller cement more more years than I can remember and it appears fine.
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

I used the Testors non toxic as a teenager to build model cars. It smells good like citrus because it's citrus based. It didn't grab as well, and could be messy.
