I have a strange situation with a pretty new 37784 train. When it runs in the reverse (per the Mobile Station) direction it seems to work fine. All of the functions work well and it runs smoothly. But, if you reverse the direction there is an audible "click" and none of the interior lights work except the ones in the powered car work. It even seems to sometimes have a short that triggers Stop mode. So, it seems like there is some kind of an electrical issue but I don't know enough about how this trainset is wired to be sure what is going on. I'm guessing that there is some kind of issue with the current conduction couplers but I can't see any obvious misalignments.

The click when selecting the direction reverse is normal. I don't know how to find a short in the train, but have you inspected the coupler current pins for a bent or broken one? Do the red rear marker lights work in both directions? If so, then current is flowing through the train as expected. Are the interior lights led, or bulbs?
