Hi,

I am trying to wire up a Marklin 3 way turnout using the Marklin point motors 74491, Decoder 74466 and turnout lantern 74470.

As you can see from the image attached, the motors and decoder are fitted. However I am also trying to fit the turnout lantern but cannot see how these would fit.

On the left location, I have tried to locate the led pcb where the hole is, but is wont stay in place and there is no route to run the two wires back to the decoder pcb.
On the right location, it seems like the pcb should be fitted with the wires into the two groves, but that would mean the cables are running the wrong direction to access the decoder pcb.

I am sure others have successfully achieved what I am trying to do, and would be grateful if someone could tell me what I am doing wrong.

Many thanks

Alex

Hi Alex
Only the little PCB is to be used and clipped into the tree-way point.
The plastic frame and screw are not used.
Cheers

Hi Jean

Thanks for your post. Yes I realise that its just the PCB and not the black holder, but as I said, on the left, the PCB wont stay in place, unless I glue it which is not a problem, but there is simply no routing for the cable. On the right, it simply wont fit if the wires are to connect to the decoder.

I did wonder if I was using the right parts, but as far as I can see I am.

Very odd :(

What PCB are you trying to connect the lantern wires to? I connect all of mine to my yellow & brown bus wiring that I run around my layout for lighting circuits.

The manual says to connect them to some solder pads for that purpose on the digital decoder - that's where I have connected all my other points and all work OK.
