I have just purchased a used example, waiting for arrival

Search shows the real thing attained 143mph. Does anyone know when these were offered by Marklin for sale?

Hello, hope all is well.

That is a fantastic z scale model. I have been watching for that one also. I consider it an early railbus, but it might have only been used to run tests. The date of production will vary depending which one you have.

According to this site, it was produced in 1982, likely with a three pole motor.

According to Marklin, it was undated and offered with a five pole motor in 2010 until 2013.

Check out the prototype information on this site. This used a BMW airplane motor!

I hope the propeller works on yours. Just seems this feature really makes this one interesting.

Take good care. Happy New Year!

Dwight

Hi

Here you go. Usually a paper copy of this is inserted under the box tray.

I have just received the model, and given it an oiling (thank you Dwight)-never been done before by the look .Model runs well and is fast ....
However long length and fixed axles mean it does not take points well(slight jolt)and very ocassionally derails at low speed . There is also some slowing on a slight incline (un intentional ) that I have on the circuit - only one driven axle..

Overall ,the appearance more than makes up for this, when it is ripping up the track!
